Coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers currently have a top recruiting class of 2024, ranking No. 10 nationally. However, with 24 commitments, there’s room for improvement with one or two more pickups. Earlier today, top LSU football recruit, edge rusher CJ Jackson decommitted from Georgia Tech, opening the door for potential suitors.

If the class of 2024 ended today, the Tigers would be right up with some of the best in the country. Their current 24 commits rank No. 10 nationally, representing the apparent talent they have going into the future.

With that said, they might not be done yet. The Tigers missed out on several top-tier defensive recruits, such as edge rusher Colin Simmons, defensive tackle Dominick McKinley and cornerback Wardell Mack, but not all is lost.

One of the Tigers’ top recruits and top edge rusher, CJ Jackson, recently decommitted from Georgia Tech, leaving the door open for coaches like Brian Kelly to make their move.

According to On3, Jackson is the No. 64 player nationally in the class of 2024. Furthermore, he ranks No. 7 as an edge rusher and No. 10 in Georgia.

The four-star class of 2024 edge rusher committed to the Yellow Jackets in June following a successful visit to campus. However, following their loss to Bowling Green over the weekend, Jackson elected to look elsewhere.

Notably, the LSU football recruit has an offer from the Tigers and last visited campus in June. He’s taken two visits to Baton Rouge so far, so if coach Brian Kelly manages to get him back on campus sometime this season, it could be significant.
