As exciting as verbal commitments are initially, it’s important to remember that when it comes to recruiting at the college level, nothing is official until pen hits paper on national signing day. In turn, that’s why it’s so notable that big-time LSU football commitment cornerback Jaboree Antoine will take a visit to Miami today.
Top LSU football commitment Jaboree Antoine to take a visit with Miami today
As we look at the LSU football class of 2025 today, there’s no denying that it stands as one of, if not the best in the entire country. With nine commitments of four-star or better, it’s loaded with talent and is only looking to continue to grow.
However, coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers aren’t the only program in the country looking to take over that top spot in the 2025 cycle recruiting rankings. Among the current threats include Ohio State, Georgia and Notre Dame, all of which rank in the top-five nationally.
Additionally, it appears as though Miami is looking to make a potential push, and they aren’t afraid to move into enemy territory to make it happen.
Jaboree Antoine, a four-star Louisiana-based cornerback and one of the top players nationally initially announced his LSU football commitment on January 27, 2024. For the purple and gold, it was some of the best news they could have received, as the New Iberia, LA, product ranks No. 51 nationally, and No. 2 in-state, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
As important as the commitment was at the time, recruitment for the talented cornerback is nowhere near finished.
In fact, today, Monday, March 4, Antoine is set to take a trip out East, as he’ll visit coach Mario Cristobal and the Miami football program. After being one of the first to offer him in January of 2023, the Hurricanes have always been a threat to steal the in-state product from the purple and gold.
With this being his first trip to the ACC program, it will be interesting to see how things trend for the talented LSU football commitment over the coming weeks.
