BOOM! The Tigers just made a massive move toward solidifying the future of their offensive line. On Friday, LSU football received their 18th class of 2024 commitment with offensive tackle Ethan Calloway.
LSU football recruiting: Tigers land the No. 1 offensive tackle out of North Carolina
It has been a day for coach Brian Kelly and the LSU football program! One of the most significant holes in the Tigers’ recruiting class of 2024 up to this point has been the offensive line.
While it’s still not completely filled, the Tigers took a major step towards completing that position group with the commitment of offensive tackle Ethan Calloway.
Calloway is listed as the No. 74 player nationally and the No. 1 player in North Carolina, according to On3.
When looking at him as a prospect, physically, he’s about as college ready as it gets. Standing at 6-foot-7, 300 pounds, he could immediately walk onto a college football field and fit right in. For instance, LSU football star offensive tackle Will Campbell stands at 6-foot-6, 325 pounds.
This commitment comes a week following his official visit to Baton Rouge. The Tigers were able to bring him on campus for the final official visit of his recruitment, so this likely played a significant part in his final decision.
LSU football beat out top programs such as Georgia, Penn State and Florida for Calloway’s talents. This was a big-time get for coach Brian Kelly, and the their offensive line’s future just received a major boost.
