Week one is officially upon us! For the second year in a row, one of the biggest games of the new season is the LSU football matchup versus Florida State. Last season, the Tigers lost a close one in New Orleans, as the Seminoles came out on top 24-23. For the 2023 edition, the game is being hosted in Orlando, and early odds are looking promising for the Tigers.
Odds are leaning towards purple and gold for the LSU football matchup versus Florida State
What a treat the college football schedule has for us this season! On Sunday of week one, LSU football is set to face off with Florida State in a top-10 matchup.
While the Seminoles ultimately won last season, things are trending in another direction for 2023. Both programs are on the rise, but oddsmakers have a stronger opinion of the Tigers a little under a week from kickoff.
As of today, according to most major betting sites, Brian Kelly’s squad looks like the early favorite to come out on top.
According to Vegas Insider, LSU is the favorite, with a spread of -2.5. Additionally, the over/under is set around 57.5 points, showing that they expect a slightly higher-scoring game than we saw in last season’s edition.
It’s notable to mention that aside from the Tigers’ matchup with Alabama in Tuscaloosa, they are the favorites to win all of their games this season. Early signs show that Vegas has a good feeling about LSU football. Now, Brian Kelly’s squad just needs to prove them right.
The official game time is 6:30 p.m. CST on Sunday, September 3rd, at Camping World Stadium in Orlando. You’ll be able to watch the highly anticipated matchup live on ABC.
