LSU football doesn’t have a single running back committed to their class of 2024 yet. While it’s still early, and it isn’t necessarily a concern yet, it could become one very quickly. Recently, LSU football running back target Caden Durham spoke on ‘The Jordy Culotta Show’ and announced his commitment date.
LSU football running back target Caden Durham has set his commitment date
Caden Durham remains one of the most important targets on the LSU football recruiting board. That stands true no matter which class you talk about.
When you look at the rest of the running back board for the class of 2024, most of the Tigers’ top targets have committed elsewhere. Now, Durham remains at the top of their board, and we’ll find out his official decision very soon.
Durham will commit to his future school on August 25. This is the same day he has a game against South Oak Cliff High School, based out of Dallas.
Durham ranks as the No. 173 player nationally and the No. 12 running back overall, per 247 Sports. The Duncanville, TX, product is also the No. 31 player out of Texas.
Throughout his entire recruitment, it’s largely been a two-horse race for the four-star running back. Oklahoma and LSU have been the top two programs going after him, but that hasn’t stopped other programs from shooting their shot. Just a week ago, Auburn football offered the class of 2024 running back, bringing his offer list to well over 30 in total.
As things stand, Oklahoma continues to look like the favorite to earn Durham’s commitment. Still, he last visited Baton Rouge on June 23, so the Tigers are very much still in it.
This is about as important a recruitment as it gets for coach Brian Kelly. The Tigers have plenty of stud running backs on their board for the class of 2025. Still, Durham is one of the few remaining options for the 2024 class, not to mention one of the best.
