LSU starting running back reportedly entering transfer portal

Yet another big-time offensive player has entered the portal!

It’s been an active week for coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers in the transfer portal. Most recently, after just one season of heading back home to Louisiana, LSU starting running back Logan Diggs will now look for a new home ahead of the 2024 season.

LSU starting running back Logan Diggs enters transfer portal for second straight season

When coach Brian Kelly made his way from Notre Dame to Baton Rouge ahead of the 2022 season, it was only natural that several players looked to follow. Among said players were punter Jay Bramblett, as well as running back Logan Diggs one year later.

When it came to the LSU starting running back, it felt like a match made in heaven, largely thanks to him being from Metairie, LA. However, after just one season with the purple and gold, he has elected to look for a third home in his collegiate career, entering the transfer portal for a second time.

Since coming out of high school as a high four-star recruit, Diggs has been consistent no matter where he played. In two years with Notre Dame, he found pretty significant playing time almost immediately. In total, he carried the ball 217 times for 1,050 yards and seven touchdowns.

Then, having made his way back to the Boot ahead of the 2023 season, he only continued the run he was on. As a Tiger, he carried the ball 119 times for 653 yards and seven touchdowns, making this past season one of the best of his young career.

Now, with the three-year back headed elsewhere for 2024, the door has officially opened for several other high-potential running backs on the LSU roster. The biggest name to keep an eye on will be senior Josh Williams, but this could also mean big things for incoming sophomores Kaleb Jackson and Trey Holly, as well as freshman Caden Durham.
