LSU football landed its 10th total commitment of its transfer portal class of 2025, as former Middle Tennessee State punter Grant Chadwick will join the currently No. 3 ranked group in college football.

It’s been a fruitful December transfer portal period for Brian Kelly and the 2025 LSU football roster. After immediately losing 16 players to the portal within just a few days, the Tiger coaching staff has since gone out of their way to pickup immediate impact players left and right, most recently signing former Middle Tennessee State punter Grant Chadwick for their 10th pledge of the month.

A 6-foot-4, 190-pound punter out of Tullahoma, TN, Chadwick will be entering the purple and gold football program as a true sophomore with nearly infinite potential.

Having punted the ball 51 times as a true freshman in 2024, the former Tullahoma High School standout found his way to the Ray Guy Award watch list, averaging 43.4 yards per punt, with a long of 60.

During the 2024 season, Brian Kelly showed that he has no reservations when it comes to running a two-punter system, as both Peyton Todd and Blake Ochsendorf both saw extended playing time. With Ochsendorf headed elsewhere, Chadwick will now come in and compete against Todd for starting punting duties, but it wouldn’t surprise if we ultimately see both players utilized in 2025.

Grant Chadwick will enter the LSU football program as a three-star transfer, and the 10th portal commitment of the 2025 offseason. The Tiger transfer portal class of 2025 now ranks No. 3 nationally, and No. 2 in the SEC, according to 247Sports, trailing only Ole Miss and Texas Tech, who hold 12 and 16 commitments respectively.
