Should I stay or should I go is a question many upperclassmen are asking themselves right about now as we begin to look ahead to the 2024 college football season. For the Tigers, LSU senior running back Josh Williams is one such player, and following graduation, he discussed his remaining year of eligibility.

When it comes to players beating the odds, few match the description quite as well as LSU senior running back Josh Williams. Entering college Williams was just a two-star recruit and chose to join the Tiger program as a scout team member.

However, despite being viewed as little more than a depth piece early on, he’s proven to be one of the more consistent players on roster over the last four seasons.

Over the course of his career with the purple and gold, the veteran running back has totaled 185 carries for 960 yards and 11 touchdowns. Notably, each of his touchdowns have come over the last two seasons.

Now, having just about concluded his fifth season with the program, he has a choice to make. With one more year of eligibility remaining, he has the option to return and there’s little doubt he’d be a welcome addition to the 2024 Tiger football team.

On Thursday following graduation, Jacques Doucet of WAFB Channel 9 in Baton Rouge caught up with the LSU senior running back.

“I haven’t decided fully yet, but I’m leaning more towards coming back to college,” Williams said in a video posted by Jacques on Twitter.

Heading into the 2024 season, coach Brian Kelly will have an incredibly talented running back room, with underclassmen Kaleb Jackson, Trey Holly and Caden Durham set to be on scholarship. Additionally, several upperclassmen have the option to return including Logan Diggs and Josh Williams among others.
