Recruiting at the level of success that LSU has over the last few weeks is rare to say the very least. When it comes to the upcoming recruiting cycle, coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers are now looking to continue that success to the defensive side of the ball. On Friday, five-star class of 2025 cornerback Dijon Lee named the purple and gold as one of his top-eight candidates.
Five-star class of 2025 cornerback Dijon Lee names LSU as a top candidate
What a run coach Brian Kelly has the Tigers on. Whether it be the football field, recruiting, the transfer portal or coaching searches, it seems like just about everything is shining purple and gold.
Class of 2025 recruiting has been particularly notable, as LSU now has three four-star or better commitments. However, five of their seven total pledges in the cycle rest on the offensive side of the ball, so thereās plenty of work to do for the defense.
Luckily for Tiger fans, coach Brian Kelly hasnāt forgotten about that phase of the game. This was especially apparent Friday night, as LSU gained a new defensive coordinator in Blake Baker, formerly with Missouri.
Now, continuing the positive momentum, the purple and gold have been named one of eight candidates for five-star class of 2025 cornerback Dijon Lee, out of Carson, CA.
When looking at the cornerback position, youāre generally either looking for size or speed, but itās not often that you find them together in tandem. Well, in the case of Lee, this just so happens to be exactly what he has.
Standing at 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, he already has the height to compete with even the tallest of wide receivers down field. Add in his background in the long jump and hurdle events, itās not hard to see his next-level potential.
Ranking No. 23 nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite, as well as No. 1 in California, Dijon Lee will make a college football program very happy in the near future.
As things stand, the five-star class of 2025 cornerback listed LSU, along with Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Oregon, Penn State, USC and Washington as his top options.
