It’s been an active day for the Tiger football program as far as building the 2024 roster goes. Today, it was announced that LSU freshman wide receiver Jalen Brown will reportedly enter the transfer portal.
LSU freshman wide receiver Jalen Brown to enter transfer portal
An already thinning wide receiver room just lost a bit more depth ahead of the 2024 Tiger football season. Earlier today, star pass catcher Brian Thomas Jr announced that he’d be heading off to the NFL draft, while it’s expected that fellow junior Malik Nabers is likely to follow suit in the near future.
Now, just hours later, the Tigers appear to be losing a talented depth piece, as LSU freshman wide receiver Jalen Brown reportedly has plans to enter the transfer portal.
This is a big-time loss for the Tigers, as Brown was one of the top LSU signees in the class of 2023. According to 247Sports, he ranked within the top-100, landing at No. 91 overall and No. 14 among wide receivers.
Unfortunately, his high ranking out of high school didn’t translate to the football field in his freshman season. He failed to record a reception in 2023, but was likely to see some increased opportunity heading into next year.
The 6-foot-1, 178-pound former four-star will enter the transfer portal with four years of eligibility remaining.
