LSU football vs. Georgia State is less than an hour away, and it’s looking like it could be a good one for the Tigers. Here, we’ll look at the weekly injury report from coach Brian Kelly, betting odds and how to watch this evening’s game.
LSU football vs. Georgia State injury report
- Junior RB Logan Diggs – OUT
The Tigers have experienced a fortunate week, as just one player was on the injury report, according to coach Brian Kelly. On Thursday, he revealed that starting running back Logan Diggs would be doubtful heading into Saturday.
“I would say he (Logan Diggs) is doubtful,” the head man said when asked about the status of his starting running back.
However, early Saturday, Pete Thamel of ESPN reported that the starting ball carrier would be unavailable for LSU’s game against Georgia State.
So far, through the 2023 season, Diggs has by far been the most productive running back on roster, recording 635 yards and six touchdowns on just 113 carries. For context, that’s an average of 5.6 yards per carry, showing incredible efficiency through eight games.
However, since the Tigers will be without him this evening, they’ll need to find that efficiency elsewhere. Look for senior Josh Williams, senior Noah Cain and freshman Kaleb Jackson to pick up where Diggs left off.
Betting odds, how to watch
For the second week in a row, coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers are expected to escape Saturday comfortably as big favorites over their opponents.
This week, LSU football rests comfortably as a 32.5-point favorite over the Panthers of Georgia State. Additionally, the over/under has consistently increased throughout the week, landing at 74.5 projected points for the matchup.
This higher-than-usual spread and over/under are likely due to an expected blowout by the Bayou Bengals of Baton Rouge. As long as coach Kelly keeps the team focused and on track, the team should get through week 12 without any significant surprises.
