After a bit of a stumble two weeks ago vs. Ole Miss, coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers are back on the rise in 2023 following their victory over Missouri on Saturday. Now, heading into their game vs. Auburn, the game time for LSU football vs. Army in week eight has officially been announced.
LSU football vs. Army announced as yet another night game in Death Valley
LSU football sits at 4-2 with a 3-1 record vs. conference competition. However, because they’ve only faced two nonconference opponents thus far, the Tigers have the luxury of two more nonconference games in 2023.
One such game is coming up in two weeks, as LSU football vs. Army will take place in week eight.
The last time the Tigers faced off against the Black Knights, most people reading this weren’t even alive yet.
In 1931, LSU football vs. Army was a relatively uneven matchup, as the Black Knights came out on top 20-0. This also happens to be the only time the two programs have ever faced off against each other, so the Tigers currently trail in the series 0-1.
However, in the year of 2023, things have changed in a significant way, as coach Brian Kelly and his squad will likely head into the matchup as overwhelming favorites.
So far this season, the Black Knights boast a record of 2-3 with wins over Delaware State and UTSA. Notably, this isn’t the first time they will have made the trip to Louisiana, having lost to LA Monroe in week one.
In the meantime, LSU football is set to take on Auburn this Saturday, October 14, at 6:00 p.m. CST in Tiger Stadium.
