Following an impressive visit over the weekend, LSU football appears to be making solid moves towards potentially flipping current Texas defensive lineman commit Brandon Brown over to the purple and gold.
LSU football trending to potentially flip Texas defensive lineman commit Brandon Brown following recent visit to Baton Rouge
Four-star class of 2025 defensive lineman Brandon Brown first announced his commitment to Texas back in December of 2023. At the time, it was a massive pickup for the Longhorns as they looked to continue building up an already impressive interior defensive line room.
Interestingly enough, it wasnât long following his pledge that defensive line coach and the primary recruiter of Brown â Bo Davis â was announced as the latest hire by coach Brian Kelly and LSU football in early January.
Fortunately for head coach Steve Sarkisian and the entire Texas coaching staff, the Tiger coaching hire didnât appear to leave too strong a mark on their recruiting efforts for nearly a full six months. With that said, following a recent visit over to Baton Rouge, the talented defensive lineman out of Melbourne, FL is now being looked at as a potential flip candidate, most recently receiving an expert prediction from Billy Embody of On3 to the purple and gold.
Rated as the No. 218 player nationally, and No. 20 defensive lineman in the class of 2025, according to On3, the flip prediction is excellent news for an LSU football defensive coaching staff thatâs still trying to get itâs feet under them as far as recruiting goes.
If they do manage to flip an elite talent such as Brown from a future SEC program such as Texas, donât be surprised if it causes something of a snowball effect as far as the class of 2025 goes.
Brown might not be rated as a five-star, but when watching his tape, itâs not hard to become enamored with not only his physical traits, but also his overall strength ahead of his senior year with Eau Gallie. Officially being listed at 6-foot-2, 275 pounds, Brown recorded 155 tackles, 48 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks, four passes defended, four forced fumbles and a fumble recovery over his last three seasons combined.
Whether it be Texas, LSU, or any other school in the country for that matter, if the four-star defensive lineman manages to stay healthy and continue building strength ahead of his senior year, some school is going to be very happy when he eventually signs his official letter of intent.
Thereâs plenty of work left to be done, but if Tiger defensive line coach Bo Davis does manage to flip the talented defensive lineman over to the purple and gold, he has the potential to make an earlier impact than many fans realize. For now, itâs just a matter of keeping the momentum rolling.
