Continuing its productive summer of recruiting, LSU football was recently named as one of six remaining contenders in the recruitment of Florida-based blue chip wide receiver Nae’shaun Montgomery.
LSU football recruiting named one of six remaining contenders for Florida-based blue chip wide receiver Nae’shaun Montgomery
With two wide receivers already committed to play for the LSU football class of 2025, pass catcher is no longer the major need that it once was for coach Brian Kelly in this current recruiting cycle.
With that said, you’d generally prefer to land at least three wide receivers and one or two tight ends per class, so there’s still work to be done, and the Tiger coaching staff has clearly not relaxed one bit.
Among the top names still considering the purple and gold are five-star recruits Jaime Ffrench and Kaliq Lockett, but one recruitment to at least keep an eye on is that of Florida-based blue chip wide receiver Nae’shaun Montgomery who will make his final decision one month from now on August 25.
Officially listed as a 6-foot-1, 165-pound wide receiver out of West Palm Beach, FL, Montgomery is certainly on the lighter side when it comes to college-level recruits, but with solid route running and a knack for the endzone, it’s just a matter of filling out his frame over the next year or so.
Florida is currently looking like the heavy favorite in this one, possessing crystal ball predictions from both Tom Loy and Blake Alderman of 247Sports to go along with a 93.4 percent chance for the Gators, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
Even so, with a top-six including Alabama, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Oregon and Penn State, there’s still plenty of time remaining until commitment day for him to make a fully informed decision. Regardless of where he ends up, Montgomery is likely to make an excellent addition to whichever wide receiver room he finds himself being a part of in the future, and has the upside to make a fairly early impact at the Power Four level.
