Itā€™s been a bit of a journeyman few years for defensive lineman Shone Washington. However, after several stops along the way, the JUCO big man has found his way back home, as he announced his commitment to transfer to LSU football recruiting earlier today.

It almost feels like forever ago that defensive lineman Shone Washington first announced his commitment to LSU football recruiting. In fact, it almost was forever ago.

In August 2020, the New Orleans native made the decision to stay close to home and join LSU. However, an offer from Kirby Smart and Georgia led him down a different path.

A year and some change later, he ultimately swapped his commitment over to the Bulldogs, and heā€™d end up signing with them as a part of the class of 2021.

Fast forward another year, and Washington decided it was time for a change. In June 2023, he made his first career transfer, opting to play for East Mississippi Community College in anticipation of the 2023 season.

Now, completing this journey, the former JUCO standout has chosen to return to LSU football recruiting, marking a homecoming for Washington.

In 2023, he had a much more productive season than he had with Georgia one year prior. After recording just one tackle as a freshman for the Bulldogs, he came back in a major way in 2023, recording 26 tackles, including three for a loss and one sack.

As per 247Sports JUCO rankings, he stands out as one of the premier JUCO players nationwide, ranking No. 15 nationally. Heading into an offseason full of uncertainty around the defensive line, adding Washington to the mix could prove pivotal in 2024.

After choosing the Tigers over several SEC programs, including Mississippi State and Arkansas, he will have three years of eligibility remaining.
