The dominoes are officially falling. After facing a slow few months, LSU football recruiting is experiencing quite the surge in momentum, most recently landing a commitment from class of 2025 edge rusher LaJesse Harrold earlier this afternoon.
Class of 2025 edge rusher LaJesse Harrold becomes third LSU football recruiting commitment in as many days
When it rains it pours, and right now, LSU football recruiting is experiencing quite the storm. Just a few days ago, the Tigers were in the midst of a two month drought in terms of receiving any form of commitments. However, after most recently landing three recruits over the span of three days, we now live in a very different world.
Four-star offensive lineman Carius Curne got the positive momentum started on Thursday, adding himself to an already impressive offensive group for the purple and gold class of 2025. Then, just last night, the program landed its first commitment of the 2026 recruiting cycle, with elite Louisiana-based defensive lineman Richard Anderson making his announcement.
Now, as if those two trench pieces werenāt enough, four-star edge rusher LaJesse Harrold announced his pledge to coach Brian Kelly and LSU football recruiting, only continuing their efforts to build through the line of scrimmage.
Officially listed as a 6-foot-5, 215-pound edge rusher out of Tampa, FL, Harrold was actually just on campus a little over a week ago, taking his official visit to Baton Rouge, LA from June 14 until June 16. As it would turn out, heād seen enough during his trip and elected to go ahead and make his final decision.
Picking LSU football recruiting over several other big-time programs such as Texas A&M and Illinois, defensive coordinator Blake Baker is gaining an elite piece to utilize during the 2025 college football season. Ranking No. 66 nationally, according to On3, as well as No. 9 among fellow edge rushers, there are very few players in the entire class of 2025 who compare to the Robinson High School standout as far as overall size and athleticism go.
Harrold now joins a purple and gold 2025 recruiting class that includes multiple blue chip defenders such as four-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine and four-star linebackers Charles Ross and Keylan Moses. The entire group is now up to 13 commitments total, headlined by five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, bringing the Tigers all the way up to No. 2 nationally, and No. 1 within the SEC.
