When you have a chance to bring one of the best players in the recruiting class of 2024 on campus, you don’t pass it up. Today, five-star wide receiver and former Alabama commit Ryan Williams will take a trip to Baton Rouge for an LSU visit.
Class of 2024 five-star wide receiver Ryan Williams to take a visit to LSU today
Last week, one of the best players in the entire country reopened his recruitment. After committing to Alabama over a year ago in October of 2022, five-star wide receiver Ryan Williams elected to reconsider his options following the retirement of coach Nick Saban.
It’s important to note that the class of 2024 star hasn’t completely pushed the Crimson Tide off to the side. As a matter of fact, ahead of several visits lined up over the next month, he took a surprise trip to Tuscaloosa just yesterday.
However, with that trip coming to an end, he will now move his sights to Baton Rouge where he’ll take an official visit to LSU today.
Not long ago, Williams was viewed as one of the best players in the class of 2025. Now, after a reclassification to the 2024 cycle, he’s held on to his high ranking, sitting at No. 10 nationally, and No. 3 among wide receivers, according to 247Sports.
Over the course of his high school career, the Saraland, TX, product has shown the ability to do just about anything and everything for his offense. In total, he’s accumulated 4,332 yards and 71 touchdowns in three seasons.
Along with visiting Louisiana to see coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers, Williams has also set up three other official visits to Alabama (January 19), Texas (January 26) and Auburn (February 2).
The timing is important here. While it’s nice that LSU is getting him on campus so soon, they could be at a slight disadvantage with three other trips being later on his schedule. They’ll need to make sure the visit is impactful enough to stay fresh in his mind for the next month or so. Furthermore, following his visit to Auburn, he’ll have just five days remaining to make his college decision.
National Signing Day is scheduled for February 7, 2024, so expect a quick turnaround for the class of 2024 five-star wide receiver following his final official visit.
