Not too long ago, it was expected that LSU football would have an elite defensive back room each year. While things have strayed from there the last couple of seasons, the Tigers are once again moving in the right direction. Today, LSU football received a crystal ball projection for elite class of 2024 cornerback Ondre Evans.
LSU football receives expert crystal ball projection for top-350 cornerback Ondre Evans
Coach Brian Kelly has been on a tear this offseason. Regarding the defensive backfield, LSU football has dominated the recruiting cycle. While they donât have many commitments, they are on the way.
Most recently, the Tigers received a crystal ball projection for one of the best cornerback prospects in the country, Ondre Evans. Evans is a four-star recruit and the No. 341 player in the country, according to 247 Sports.
The NC State Wolfpack has largely been viewed as the favorite to land Evans, but after a successful visit to Baton Rouge, things might be changing in a major way for the Tigers.
Evans is an elite athlete with top-end speed
Speed is one of the most necessary skills for any defensive back. When youâre a cornerback out wide, you want to be able to keep up with any wide receivers charging straight at you.
For class of 2024 cornerback Ondre Evans, that shouldnât be too much of a concern. Along with football, heâs an absolute star on the track.
The thing is, heâs getting even faster still. In late May, he went a personal best, breaking his school record with a 10.55-second 100-meter dash.
Itâs always promising when you see a prospect with elite physical traits. Things like speed and size just arenât teachable. Thatâs why finding a recruit with those attributes is always so exciting.
Standing at 6-foot, 183 pounds with a 10.55-second 100-meter dash, Ondre Evans has all the potential in the world. Now itâs just a matter of whether he wants to commit to DBU and head to Baton Rouge or not.
