As the 2024 college football season rapidly approaches, the LSU coaching staff continues to try and close on some big-time recruits, with top class of 2025 Louisiana-based cornerback Aidan Anding most recently set a commitment date for later this week.
Louisiana-based cornerback Aidan Anding includes LSU football among final three schools
Itās a tale as old as time. The best recruits in Louisiana more often than not play for LSU, and secondary coach Corey Raymond appears determined to keep one of the best in-state cornerbacks within the Boot to play for the purple and gold.
On Sunday evening, class of 2025 defensive back Aidan Anding, out of Ruston, LA, not only announced that the Tigers have made his short list of three finalists, but he appears ready to announce his final decision, setting Saturday, August 24th as his commitment date.
Officially listed as a 5-foot-11, 165-pound cornerback, Anding is currently listed as the No. 401 player nationally, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, as well as the No. 13 player in Louisiana.
A triple-sport athlete for Ruston High School, Anding is a surprisingly physical player for his size, and possesses the speed (track and field) and athleticism (basketball) to make an impact, pretty much regardless of where heās lined up on the field.
Primarily projected as a cornerback at the next level, Anding also has the potential to see snaps on special teams if need be, particularly as a return specialist.
With a commitment date set for later this Saturday, the class of 2025 three-star cornerback is as good as guaranteed to end up with an SEC program, setting a top-three that includes the likes of Arkansas, LSU and Texas. While the purple and gold look like the early favorites in this one, a recent commitment from blue chip defensive back Kade Phillips may have adjusted things at least slightly, so expect this recruiting battle to go all the way up until the very end.
