Bringing the LSU football class of 2026 all the way up to No. 8 nationally, the Tigers have officially received their third commitment of the cycle in three-star inside offensive lineman Jalan Chapman out of New Orleans, LA.

LSU football lands third commitment of class of 2026 recruiting cycle

As fun as it’s been to see the momentum LSU football currently has in the recruiting class of 2025, Brian Kelly and his coaching staff certainly haven’t forgotten to keep an eye to the future.

On Sunday evening, the purple and gold landed their third commitment of the class of 2026, receiving a pledge from talented offensive lineman Jalan Chapman out of New Orleans, LA.

Officially listed as a 6-foot-3, 275-pound inside offensive lineman from Warren Easton High School, Chapman has wasted no time in getting his recruitment off to a hot start, currently sitting as the No. 365 player nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite, as well as No. 12 within the Boot.

As good as he is on the football field, it’s notable to mention that he’s also a stud on the track and field, having qualified for the Louisiana 5A regional in the shot put as a freshman in 2022. He would go on to finish fifth overall in the event.

Despite having not even started his junior season at the high school level, Chapman is already receiving interest from some of the top college football programs across the country, possessing offers from local schools Grambling State and Tulane to go along with national brands such as Georgia and Oregon.

With his commitment to coach Brian Kelly and LSU football, the big-time Louisiana product has now helped the Tiger class of 2026 all the way up to No. 8 nationally, as well as No. 3 within the SEC. Interestingly enough, all three of the current purple and gold commitments in the cycle are from New Orleans, so it’s safe to say the coaching staff is emphasizing in-state recruits, and thus far, it’s paying off in a major way.
