And just like that, “WRU” strikes again! Having become one of the top producers of pass catchers at the college level, LSU is now expected to land another top transfer portal wide receiver commitment, this time from CJ Daniels out of Liberty.

LSU football expected to land commitment from top Liberty transfer portal wide receiver CJ Daniels

There’s no such thing as too many weapons on the offensive end of the field. If you have a constant flow of rested and elite pass catchers coming in and out of a game, it puts the defense at an immediate disadvantage.

Looking ahead to the 2024 season, this appears to be something coach Brian Kelly has in mind. Having already landed a commitment earlier this cycle from former Mississippi State wide receiver Zavion Thomas, the Tigers continued to push for some top talent.

Now, as of today, the Tigers are expected to welcome in yet another pass catcher into the mix, as Matt Zenitz of 247Sports reported that Liberty transfer portal wide receiver CJ Daniels will commit to the purple and gold.

Coming out of high school, Daniels received little to no attention as a potential FBS level producer. Rated as a two-star recruit and the No. 408 receiver nationally, according to 247Sports, Liberty was one of the only programs to offer him.

However, after making 106 receptions for 1,954 yards and 21 touchdowns over the last four seasons, things have changed in a major way. As a potential transfer, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound pass catcher out of Lilburn, GA, ranks No. 30 this cycle.

With today’s expected addition, the Tiger wide receiver room is looking like one of the best in the country. He’ll join a group that already boasts several talented veteran talents, including Aaron Anderson Jr, Chris Hilton Jr, Kyren Lacy and Zavion Thomas.
