As impossible as it may sound, coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers have moved on from the Alabama loss last week and are in the midst of their preparation for Florida. While the Gators don’t have the most intimidating offense, it can easily confuse a defense if they aren’t ready. On Tuesday, LSU football edge rusher Ovie Oghoufo spoke briefly about what they expect to see on Saturday.

One of the more consistent parts about this Tiger team is the fact that offenses can score on their defense. In 2023, the Tigers rank 96th in total defense, allowing 407.4 yards per game while allowing 28.2 points per game.

Putting up statistics like that isn’t exactly something a team wants to hang their hat on, especially coming off another tough loss this past Saturday.

However, the team has yet to give in and hopes to continue improvement in the Florida game this weekend. When talking to the media, senior LSU football edge rusher Ovie Oghoufo spoke about the Gator offense and what they expect to see.

“They do a lot of motions and shifts – eye candy,” Oghoufo said on Tuesday“They’ve got great players. So, just managing all of that, making sure our eye discipline is correct. I think that’s one of the biggest things going into this game is eye discipline and handling all the motions and shifts, and different types of eye candy plays that they have.”

While the Tiger defense hasn’t exactly been one of the more impressive units in the country, they’re incredibly athletic. This could be a significant advantage for LSU when heading into a game where they expect plenty of motion.

Ideally, they would have the kind of speed to keep up with various shifts, putting a stop to it before it has the chance to get them out of alignment.

Still, none of that matters if they don’t come out and show up in a big way on Saturday.

The Tigers will face off against Florida on November 11 at 6:30 p.m. CST in Tiger Stadium, Baton Rouge.
