With LSU football and defensive coordinator Blake Baker looking to rebuild their defense heading into the next few seasons, the world of recruiting is going to play a major role in how successful their efforts will be. Most recently, the Tigers were named to the top-four for talented class of 2025 safety CJ Jimcoily, who has offers from several of the top programs nationally.

As we stand today, the LSU football class of 2025 has just three commitments on the defensive side of the ball, but with official visit season just around the corner, we could see things start to shift in a major way.

Among the top recruits set to make their way to Baton Rouge over the next month is talented four-star safety CJ Jimcoily, who will make the trip from Nashville, TN, from June 14 until June 16.

Notably, just following this scheduled visit, he also elected to trim down his list of current contenders, announcing that Alabama, LSU, Stanford and Tennessee make up his top-four for the time being.

Having first received an offer from the purple and gold on January 24, 2024, they havenā€™t exactly been on him as long as the likes of Stanford and Tennessee, but he has notably already taken an unofficial visit to Baton Rouge earlier this year in March.

Ranking as the No. 363 player nationally, according to 247Sports, as well as No. 32 among safeties, Jimcoily notably has an an impressive list of offers, including more than 30 total, nine of which come from SEC programs.

While the 6-foot-3, 205-pound Lipscomb Academy has done his damage primarily as a cornerback at the high school ranks, itā€™s a pretty safe bet that he projects more as a safety at the next level thanks to his size and willingness to tackle behind the line of scrimmage.

The LSU football class of 2025 currently ranks No. 2 nationally, as well as No. 1 among their in-conference foes. If Jimcoily ultimately ends up with the Tigers, heā€™ll join a defensive group that possesses players at all three levels, including four-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine and four-star linebackers Keylan Moses and Charles Ross.
