Earlier today, LSU football recruiting continued its streak of dominance, most recently landing a commitment from Nevada-based five-star wide receiver Derek Meadows over fellow national powers Alabama, Georgia, Michigan and Notre Dame.
LSU football lands commitment from five-star wide receiver Derek Meadows out of Nevada
It’s becoming nearly impossible to imagine much more positive momentum from the LSU football recruiting staff than they have right now.
After landing a commitment from five-star cornerback DJ Pickett just a few days ago, the Tigers have officially landed yet another, as five-star wide receiver Derek Meadows will make his way from Las Vegas, NV over to Baton Rouge, LA for his future school.
Officially listed as a 6-foot-5, 200-pound standout from Bishop Gorman High School, Meadows has created quite the list of suitors, even despite being from a part of the country that doesn’t turn out consistently elite recruits. Along with his list of finalists – Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan and Notre Dame – he’d also received offers from major programs such as Florida, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Washington.
Currently ranking as the No. 32 player nationally, according to 247Sports, as well as the No. 6 wide receiver in the class of 2025, Meadows undoubtedly has elite size, but it’s his overall athleticism that makes him so scary as a pass catcher.
Along with football, he competes in track and field, and was most recently selected as the Nevada 2023 Gatorade Track and Field Player of the Year.
With today’s commitment from the five-star wide receiver, LSU football recruiting has only continued its domination in the class of 2025, with the chance to get even better in the not too distant future. Coach Brian Kelly’s squad now sits at No. 3 nationally, as well as No. 2 in-conference, according to On3, and as of today, has a new addition to their list of top-five commitments in the current recruiting cycle.
