After a wave of positive recruiting news for LSU football, things might be coming back down to earth for the Tigers for the time being. On Sunday evening, four-star class of 2024 tight end prospect Tayvion Galloway decommitted from LSU football.

Elite four-star tight end prospect Tayvion Galloway decommits from LSU football

On Sunday evening, LSU football received some less-than-ideal news. Up to this point, the Tigers have had two stellar tight end prospects committed to their class of 2024. However, they’re down to one now as four-star tight end Tayvion Galloway decommits.

Galloway is a top 300 prospect and the No. 11 tight end in the country, according to 247 Sports. Galloway was among the few non-Louisiana natives in the LSU football recruiting class.

As the No. 8 player in Ohio, he’s an elite prospect that coach Brian Kelly likely would have loved to have a part of the class. Now the question is, where does the Tiger class of 2024 go from here?

The Tigers still have elite four-star tight end Trey’Dez Green as their top commit

Despite this decommitment, all is not lost for the Tigers at the tight end position. Coach Brian Kelly is widely known for his ability to create elite tight ends, so it’s no surprise that he still has another committed to the class.

Four-star Trey’Dez Green is one of the best players in the class of 2024. Even more impressive is that he is the best player in the LSU football recruiting class.

Green, standing at 6-foot-6, 239 pounds, is the definition of a matchup nightmare. He’s taller than everyone on the field and has the athleticism to keep up with the best of them.

While it’s a big-time loss with Tayvion Galloway’s decommitment, the Tigers are still in good shape. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the LSU football pick up another tight end before things are all said and done.
