The LSU football team has an elite quarterback room. Heading into 2023, the Tigers have three former four-stars as a part of the group. Naturally, starter Jayden Daniels has high expectations for the group, even going as far as calling them the best in the country.

Every year, a select few college quarterbacks get an invite to the annual Manning Passing Academy. The camp was designed by Hall of Fame quarterback Archie Manning as a means of helping players to reach their full potential.

This year, the LSU football program was lucky enough to have two of their quarterbacks invited to the event. Jayden Daniels and Garrett Nussmeier are two of the best quarterbacks in the country, and they showed it with their performances at the camp.

At the event, starter Jayden Daniels took some time to speak with the media. While answering questions, he talked about the quarterback room, expressing just how excited he is heading into the 2023 season.

“We have the best quarterback room in the country,” Daniels said. “I’d put us against anybody in the country.”

Daniels attributes the quarterback room’s success to how close the players are

He also took the time to discuss the chemistry in the room. It’s rare to find a group that genuinely wants to see everyone succeed, but that’s what they have in Baton Rouge.

“For us, we’re tight,” Daniels continued. “That’s just a blessing for us because, you know, most people don’t really get this in their room. Guys that just want to see each other be successful at the end of the day.”

For LSU football fans, it’s a great sign to see Jayden Daniels this confident. With freshman Rickie Collins, sophomore Garrett Nussmeier and senior Jayden Daniels, it’s safe to say the Tigers’ quarterback room is stacked.

If any injury happens, they should be in good shape no matter who is under center. LSU football opens its season on September 3, 2023, versus Florida State at 6:30 p.m. CST. How the team performs that day should be incredibly telling for how the rest of the season will go.

According to Jayden Daniels, it sounds like the purple and gold faithful have plenty to look forward to.
