After a seemingly endless streak of positive momentum on the recruiting trail for LSU, they’ve finally hit a bit of a road bump. Today, three-star class of 2025 cornerback Jaylen Bell announced his decommitment from the program, dropping the Tigers to nine pledges in the cycle.

A 14 month streak has officially come to an end. After initially announcing his commitment to coach Brian Kelly and LSU football in November of 2022, three-star class of 2025 cornerback Jaylen Bell has officially announced his decision to reopen his recruitment.

Bell rates as a three-star recruit, ranking No. 46 at his position, according to 247Sports, as well No. 43 in Georgia. While not quite as highly touted as the rest of the Tiger commitments, Bell is widely viewed as being underrated, having shown promise since the moment he first committed.

Standing at 5-foot-11, 150 pounds, the Grayson High School standout has been a consistent producer, recording 104 tackles, four interceptions and 19 passes defended in the last three seasons combined.

After opening his recruitment back up, it’s important to note that he still has plenty of big-time offers from several of the top programs in the country. Teams to keep an eye on include Georgia, Miami and South Carolina.

With today’s announcement, four-star tight end JD LaFleur is now the longest tenured commitment in the Tiger class of 2025. He initially announced his pledge in early August, while five-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore joined the party shortly after.

Despite the recruiting loss, LSU is still sitting pretty with their current group in the 2025 cycle. The purple and gold have nine commits remaining, all of which rate as a four-star or better.
