Last week vs. Arkansas, the Tigers had several big-time pieces on their injury report, including linebacker Omar Speights and tight end Mason Taylor. However, heading into Ole Miss, coach Brian Kelly gave his LSU football injury report, which included just one player, wide receiver Aaron Anderson.

OUT: Sophomore WR Aaron Anderson

It’s been a tough season for wide receiver Aaron Anderson in 2023. Coming off his freshman season at Alabama, the sophomore elected to transfer back home to play for LSU football.

However, the homecoming hasn’t gone quite as planned. In four games, Anderson has recorded just eight receptions for 33 yards.

Now, heading into week five, he’s hit another speed bump as he suffered some form of hamstring injury earlier this week in practice. Here is what coach Brian Kelly had to say regarding how the injury will impact his play this week:

“We had a little bit of a hamstring out there today with Aaron Anderson. I don’t know how bad it is, so I’ll have to update Saturday. But he did not finish practice, but we’ll see where he’s at.”

“He wasn’t rolling around on the ground in pain, but hamstrings are hamstrings with skill players, so we’ll have to see where he’s at.”

With a little less than an hour remaining until kickoff, Anderson has been seen wearing street clothes on the sideline and is ruled officially “out.”

Game time is set for 5:00 p.m. CST in Oxford, MS. You can watch the game live at home on ESPN.
