With less than two weeks remaining in his recruitment, LSU football will receive one more opportunity to impress four-star safety Anquon Fegans, as he’ll take a final visit to Baton Rouge prior to his commitment date later this month.

Alabama-based four-star safety Anquon Fegans to take one final visit with LSU football

It’s been a slow start to the class of 2025 recruiting cycle for offseason addition secondary coach Corey Raymond. In fact, with the recent decommitment of four-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine to go along with zero commitments, there’s plenty of work left to be done.

Still, if his past track record holds any truth at all, it’s just a matter of time until the momentum finally starts to pickup.

Among the top recruits in which the veteran coach is going after is that of four-star safety Anquon Fegans – one of the top defensive backs in all of Alabama. A long time favorite to ultimately land with the Tigers of Auburn, Fegans is now just a couple of weeks away from making his final decision, but it might not be quite as settled as many initially thought.

Earlier today, Steve Wiltfong of On3 reported that the 6-foot-1, Alabaster, AL, product is in the midst of setting up a visit with both LSU and Auburn in the coming weeks, giving coach Brian Kelly and his coaching staff one more shot at winning over the blue chip recruit.

Listed as the No. 57 player overall, and the No. 5 safety nationally, according to On3, Fegans is officially rated as a four-star by each of the primary recruiting sites, leaving no room for debate in that department.

A standout for Thompson High School, the four-star safety has been on the national recruiting scene for years now, first making an impact as a freshman during the 2021 season. Relatively unsurprisingly, that success has continued over the course of his entire career, leading him to record a total of 188 tackles, seven tackles for loss, 24 passes defended, 18 interceptions six forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

In turn, the Alabama-based recruit also happens to possess one of the more impressive offer totals in the entire class of 2025, with over 35 total.

As we stand today, Auburn is the far and away favorite to eventually land a commitment from Fegans on July 29. With that said, after today’s reports, LSU might not be quite as behind as many thought, so expect the purple and gold to roll out the red carpet for him when he arrives on campus in the coming weeks for his upcoming visit.
