Following their week five loss to Ole Miss, the Tigers are officially 3-2 and in wounded animal mode. As we look ahead to their future schedule, the game time for LSU football vs. Auburn has been announced. As things stand, it looks like we’ll have yet another night game in Death Valley for the week seven matchup.

LSU football vs. Auburn announced as a night game in Death Valley

One of the most intimidating atmospheres in college football is a night game in Death Valley. It’s a widely held belief, and the Tigers look to take full advantage of it with their third late game of the season.

As of today, the week seven matchup of LSU football vs. Auburn will take place at 6:00 p.m. CST.

In a similar fashion to how Arkansas has been lately, this matchup has historically been a very close battle. All-time, the Tigers of purple and gold lead the series 32-24-1. Notably, in the last nine matchups between the two schools, LSU only holds a lead of 5-4, showing just how tightly contested they have been.

So far in 2023, neither team has entirely lived up to expectations, falling to 3-2 this past weekend in their respective matchups. Still, the season is nowhere near over for either in a relatively wide-open SEC.

Auburn is heading into their BYE week of the 2023 schedule, which means Brian Kelly’s squad will likely be getting their best shot in week seven. Alternatively, LSU is heading into yet another road matchup vs. another ranked opponent: the Missouri Tigers.

No matter what, this is another tough matchup for the Tigers. If LSU football wants to come out on top, they’ll need to fix quite a bit on defense over the next two weeks.
