After a fairly quiet couple of months for LSU basketball recruiting, the Tigers were most recently included in the top-five for class of 2025 four-star center Jaden Toombs out of Dallas, TX.

With zero commitments thus far, it’s been a relatively slow start to the LSU basketball class of 2025.

With that said, coach Matt McMahon hasn’t exactly been shy when it comes to going after some of the best recruits in the country, and in turn, he has the Tigers right there in the mix for several big-time players.

Among said recruits is four-star center Jaden Toombs, out of Dallas, TX, who most recently announced his list of top-five schools which include the likes of Alabama, LSU, Miami, SMU and Texas Tech.

Officially listed as a 6-foot-9, 245-pound big man, Toombs currently rates as the No. 47 player nationally, as well as the No. 5 player at his position, according to 247Sports.

A talented player around the rim, the Dynamic Prep standout is primarily known for his ability with defense and rebounding, but is more than capable of making an impact on the offensive side of the ball, thanks in large part to some impressive touch for a recruit of his size.

In a previous interview with On3, Toombs described his game by saying, ““I got touch, I play hard, I can rebound, and shoot.”

He also added that he “Can do a lot on offense, put guys on the post and pass. I’m getting more versatile on defense. My defensive versatility has grown a lot this summer.”

While the purple and gold technically made his list of top contenders, it’s important to note that he currently appears to be trending closer to home, as SMU and Texas Tech are the early leaders in this one. With that said, the regular national signing period is still almost one full year away, so don’t be surprised to see plenty of change in this recruitment all the way up until pen finally hits paper down the line.
