College football week seven has only just begun, and the Tigers have already started things off with a victory, landing a commitment from four-star LSU football recruiting safety target Jacob Bradford early Saturday afternoon.
LSU football recruiting gets game day started with a victory of its own
And just like that, the already elite LSU football recruiting class of 2025 just got even better.
Heading into today’s week seven matchup between the Bayou Bengals and Ole Miss Rebels, it was already bound to be a major recruiting weekend. Not only is it a game between two top-15 teams, but the city of Baton Rouge, LA, also happens to be hosting several four-star and five-star recruits in both the class of 2025 and 2026.
Well, as it would turn out, some of said recruits didn’t even need to wait until kickoff to get the day started for the purple and gold, as four-star safety Jacob Bradford has officially announced his commitment to Brian Kelly and his football program.
Officially listed as a 6-foot, 195-pound safety out of Baton Rouge, LA, Bradford currently ranks No. 388 overall, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, as well as No. 14 in-state, landing him as a four-star recruit in the class of 2025.
Important to note, not only is this a massive win for the LSU football recruiting efforts in the class of 2025, but Bradford also happens to be the older brother of class of 2026 five-star safety Blaine Bradford. While landing one of the duo doesn’t necessarily mean much for the time being, it should have Tiger fans at the very least excited about their chances of being able to keep the two in-state defensive backs within Louisiana borders.
With today’s commitment now in the books, Jacob Bradford has officially become the purple and gold’s 27th commitment of the cycle, bringing them up to No. 3 nationally, as well as No. 2 in the SEC.
