Game time, and more specifically, senior day, is rapidly approaching! As we continue to prep for LSU football vs. Texas A&M game day, three players to know on the Aggie defense include Edgerrin Cooper, Bryce Anderson and Walter Nolen.

LSU football vs. Texas A&M: Three players to know on the Aggie defense

Junior LB Edgerrin Cooper

Linebacker Edgerrin Cooper is the leader and the star of this Aggie defense. When it comes to playing at his position, few are even remotely close to his level, and it’s a big reason why this group is so respected throughout the SEC.

He’s not only the team leader in tackles (75), but also sacks (7.0) and tackles for loss (16.0). He’s a master at disrupting plays in the backfield and could cause some serious issues, particularly when it comes to establishing the run.

Lucky for Tiger fans, it’s likely that coach Brian Kelly will look to throw the ball quite a bit in this LSU football vs. Texas A&M matchup to help quarterback Jayden Daniels boost his stats a bit.

Still, keep an eye out for the junior linebacker in coverage as well. He has the speed and size to keep up with tight ends and running backs alike downfield.

Sophomore DB Bryce Anderson

Speaking of quarterback Jayden Daniels, he’ll need to keep a close watch for defensive back Bryce Anderson. While still young and relatively unproven, it doesn’t take much game tape to see how impressive he is.

It’s almost a blur on television as he touts incredible speed and is more than capable of making big hits and ball-hawking for his team. In turn, he’s done just about everything you can ask of a player on the defensive ball, having recorded 40 tackles, four passes defended, one sack, one forced fumble and one interception in 2023.

He’s a playmaker through and through for the Aggie defensive backfield and can be deadly if not held in check.

Sophomore DL Walter Nolen

Yet another relatively unproven but highly talented player that we’ll likely see in this week 13 matchup is Walter Nolen, a former No. 1 overall recruit in the class of 2022.

While he hasn’t quite had his breakout moment in college yet, it feels like a matter of time, as the opportunity is there. It’s just a matter of when he has it.

With that said, I’d be surprised if his moment came today against the Tigers. Quarterback Jayden Daniels is a master at avoiding sacks, and they don’t run the ball too often unless right near the goal line. Still, the chances are never zero when Nolen is rushing the quarterback, so keep an eye out for the stud sophomore.

LSU football vs. Texas A&M is set to kickoff at 11:00 a.m. CST tomorrow in Tiger Stadium, Baton Rouge, LA. The game will also be available to watch live from home on ESPN.
