Very rarely does a true freshman find immediate success in his first collegiate season. Even more rarely do you see that same player enter the transfer portal less than a month after the conclusion of the regular season. However, that’s exactly what top offensive line transfer Chase Bisontis elected to do following his freshman season at Texas A&M, and LSU football is reportedly among is initial suitors.

Upon graduating from high school, Texas A&M freshman Chase Bisontis was widely recognized as one of the premier offensive line recruits in the class of 2023. In turn, he ended up starting all 12 games for the Aggies, and excelled all season long.

The former top-100 recruit played a pivotal role in helping the Texas A&M offense accumulate 141.4 rushing yards per game while allowing only 28 total sacks over 12 games.

However, following the dismissal of Jimbo Fisher, he opted to enter the transfer portal in search of a new home.

Already, the top offensive line transfer appears to be a bona fide star, drawing interest from several premier programs in college football. Early suitors include 10 SEC programs, such as Oklahoma, Georgia, Ole Miss, Missouri, and LSU.

Notably, the Ramsey, N.J., native is also attracting attention from teams closer to home, such as Rutgers, Penn State, and Michigan.

With his decision to enter the portal, the 6-foot-6, 320-pound inside offensive lineman will have three years of eligibility remaining. If he were to make his way over to Baton Rouge, he’d join a group with plenty of young talent, including that of sophomores Will Campbell, Emery Jones Jr and fellow freshman Zalance Heard.
