When it comes to star power in college baseball, it’s hard to find a bigger name than LSU baseball third baseman Tommy White. The junior slugger made a significant impact in 2023 with his home run prowess, earning him a spot among the top 10 prospects for the 2024 MLB draft.

Slugging percentage, home runs and runs batted in. When watching Tiger baseball in 2024, it’s a fairly safe bet that you’ll see some dramatically high numbers in each of those statistical categories.

The team is filled with players undoubtedly capable of lighting up the score board, but it’s junior LSU baseball third baseman Tommy White that should will likely keep the offense rolling this upcoming season

In the last two years, the First-Team All-American has accumulated 51 home runs and 179 RBIs. Additionally, as if that weren’t enough, he has a career batting average of 0.368 and a slugging percentage of 0.740.

In summary, when he hits the ball, he hits it hard and there’s a very good chance of it going over the back fence.

Barring unforeseen challenges in the upcoming season, his remarkable skills may position him as one of the early selections in the 2024 MLB draft. According to the official MLB draft prospects list, he holds the No. 7 overall prospect ranking this year.

Notably, throughout the 2023 season, White competed against a majority of players ranked ahead of him. LSU faced off against No. 5 Jac Caglianone (Florida), No. 4 Charlie Condon (Georgia), No. 3 Travis Bazzana (Oregon State), and No. 2 Nick Kurtz (Wake Forest) among those ranked sixth or higher.

Last year, current MLB players Paul Skenes, Dylan Crews and Tre Morgan received the bulk of attention. Now, heading into 2024, it’s time for Tommy White to shine, and if the last two years were any indication, he should be more than capable.
