The NFL isn’t ready for the storm that’s about to hit it. With the 41st pick in the 2023 NFL draft, the Arizona Cardinals selected former LSU football edge rusher BJ Ojulari. The Cardinals will soon discover why that was such a great pickup, as Ojulari was just chosen for the NFL.com Preseason Defensive All-Rookie team.

Edge rusher BJ Ojulari was practically unstoppable in 2022. He made the kind of impact where you couldn’t watch the 2022 LSU football defense without seeing him make a play.

While it didn’t necessarily show up on the stat sheet, anyone who has watched him play knows how important he was to last year’s defense. On the season, he recorded 58 tackles, 5.5 sacks and a forced fumble.

Now, having been drafted by the Arizona Cardinals, he’s preparing to terrorize the entire NFL.

Along with Ojulari, two other edge rushers were selected for the Preseason All-Rookie team. Former Alabama Crimson Tide Will Anderson Jr and former Iowa Hawkeye Lukas Van Ness made the list.

While it’s nowhere near a guarantee that Ojulari will start for the Cardinals, there’s certainly an opportunity. Especially with the retirement of future Hall of Famer JJ Watt, the Cardinals are searching for a star at the edge position.

Ojulari was that and more for the Tigers in 2022. It’s rare to see players shine in their rookie season, but Ojulari, without a doubt, has the potential to be a star. It’s just a matter of when it happens.
