College football is currently in the thick of the class of 2024 recruiting cycle. Still, that hasn’t stopped teams from taking a look at the class of 2025. LSU football, in particular, is showing no hesitation, putting their best foot forward for some elite recruits in the class. One of said recruits is top 100 wide receiver Jacorey Watson, who will be in Baton Rouge this weekend.

Recruiting a player early on is an excellent way to get your program noticed. Coach Brian Kelly knows this better than any and has taken advantage by beginning to take a look into the class of 2025.

Among the top recruits the Tigers are going after is wide receiver Jacorey Watson. The top 100 recruit is a product out of Pearland, TX, and will make his way to the boot this weekend.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound athlete may lack in size, but certainly not in talent. According to the 247 Sports Composite, Watson ranks as the No. 93 player in the country and the No. 16 wide receiver.

Getting him on campus this weekend is a major recruiting victory for Kelly and could pay dividends into the future.

Watson is more than deserving of his top 100 ranking

When major programs like Texas, LSU and Michigan recruit you before your junior year of high school, it’s generally a good sign. For top 100 wide receiver Jacorey Watson, it certainly helps that he’s a multi-sport athlete.

The elite wide receiver recruit runs track in addition to football. This plays a significant part in what he’s able to do on the football field and assists in getting open downfield. In his freshman year, he was clocked running an 11.48-second 100-meter dash.

In addition to wide receiver, Watson has experience at quarterback. Still, he projects more as a wide receiver at the college level, in large part due to his elite hands and body control.

In two seasons playing for Shadow Creek High School, the top 100 wide receiver has done it all. In total, he’s recorded 1,676 yards and 26 touchdowns.

The Tigers have two recruits committed to their class of 2025 so far. Landing an elite recruit such as Jacorey Watson would do big things for the class as a whole.
