National signing day for the class of 2024 is still over three months away, but that hasn’t stopped several of the top programs in the country from turning their sights to the class of 2025. Coach Brian Kelly and LSU football recruiting have been one of said programs, and in turn, are trending for some big-time players, including five-star linebacker Jonah Williams, who released his top-12 last night.

The LSU football recruiting class of 2025 ranks No. 5 nationally, with five commitments. Among those five commitments are three Louisiana recruits and one five-star wide receiver.

While the Tigers have emphasized the offensive side of the ball early on, it’s only a matter of time until we see some movement on defense.

Notably, last night, coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers were named one of the top 12 schools for five-star linebacker Jonah Williams.

According to the 247Sports Composite, the Galveston, TX, product ranks as the No. 16 player nationally, as well as the No. 2 linebacker in his class.

Interestingly, while he likely translates as a linebacker at the college level, the 6-foot-3, 203-pound recruit has enough athleticism to play several positions on either offense or defense. Listed as an athlete or even defensive back on other recruiting sites, he’s flexible enough to do just about anything for a defense.

While looking at schools nationwide, such as Oregon, LSU, Texas and Ohio State, he’s currently trending to some of the programs closer to home. Look for Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Texas to make a strong push at the five-star as time goes on.
