Coach Kim Mulkey and the Tigers got off to a slow start for the beginning of the 2023-24 season. In their season opener, they lost to Colorado 92-78. With that said, LSU women’s basketball recruiting is still going full speed ahead, as the Tigers will host five-star class of 2024 guard Jaloni Cambridge this weekend.
Five-star guard Jaloni Cambridge to visit LSU women’s basketball recruiting this weekend
Coach Kim Mulkey managed to put together one of the top class of 2023 groups in the country heading into this season. Now, the veteran head coach appears to have her eyes fixed on the class of 2024.
LSU women’s basketball recruiting is trending for several top recruits in the class, one of which is that of Jaloni Cambridge. The five-star guard is the No. 3 player in the entire class and is reportedly set to visit Baton Rouge this weekend.
Not only is the elite guard out of Florida one of the top targets for LSU women’s basketball recruiting, but she’s one of the best high school recruits, regardless of class.
Standing at 5-foot-6, the senior has solid size and possesses next-level speed. Additionally, she’s a true point guard, so dishing the ball to open teammates shouldn’t be an issue.
A strong visit this weekend could do wonders in convincing Cambridge that LSU is the place to be. This is especially true as she gets closer to making her final decision.
Four-star guard Jada Richard is officially a Tiger
Speaking of point guards in the class of 2024, Jada Richard is officially a Tiger.
The top player out of Lafayette, LA, signed her letter of intent today, making it as good as guaranteed that she’ll be in Baton Rouge with coach Kim Mulkey next season.
With so many potential WNBA players on the current roster, Richard could find herself with some early playing time as a freshman.
As things stand, the four-star guard is the only commitment for the Tigers in the class, but don’t be surprised to see several dominoes fall over the coming month or two.
