LSU football recruiting WR target decommits from Texas A&M after visit to Baton Rouge

Could the Tigers possibly flip this four-star wide receiver over to Baton Rouge?

It’s been a tough couple of days for LSU football recruiting. The Tigers’ class of 2024 suffered two decommitments in as many days, and the group has officially slipped out of the top 10 nationally. However, things could be heading in a better direction, as wide receiver Drelon Miller announced his decommitment from Texas A&M just days after visiting Baton Rouge.

Texas A&M continues to be one of the more confusing programs in college football.

Despite consistent domination on the recruiting trail, the results haven’t been there on the football field. The Aggies currently sit at 4-3 in 2023 and haven’t had a double-digit win season since 2012.

However, the lack of production might finally be coming back to bite current head coach Jimbo Fisher, as class of 2024 wide receiver just announced his decommitment from the program.

Drelon Miller currently rates as one of the better wide receivers in the class, sitting at No. 65 nationally and No. 14 at his position.

While it hasn’t exactly paid off thus far for the Tigers, LSU football recruiting has been one of his top choices for quite some time.

Miller initially committed to the Aggies back in June, but following a successful trip to Baton Rouge, he elected to reopen his recruitment.

Whether this is a matter of coincidence or correlation is yet to be seen, but the timing is certainly notable. It’s even more eye-opening when you consider the fact that the Tigers just lost a big-time four-star wide receiver in Joseph Stone Jr on the same day.

As things stand, the likely programs to keep an eye on for Drelon Miller and his talents are Texas A&M, USC, LSU and Miami, among others.
