LSU football recruiting most recently found yet another successful day in August, as big-time Louisiana cornerback Aidan Anding announced his commitment to stay in-state and play for the program.

It was a great day to be a fan of the purple and gold.

Not only is there just one week remaining until week one of the 2024 college football season, but the Tigers also received a major boost to the future of their program, with big-time Louisiana-based cornerback Aidan Anding announcing his commitment to LSU football recruiting Saturday afternoon.

Officially listed as a 5-foot-11, 160 -pound cornerback out of Ruston, LA, Anding is currently rated as the No. 401 player nationally, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, as well as No. 2 among players at his position in the Boot.

A standout for Ruston High School, the latest LSU football recruiting commitment brings an impressive athletic resume to the purple and gold, thanks in large part to experience in basketball and track and field to go along with his work on the gridiron.

In turn, said athleticism without a doubt plays a role in his ability to cover some of the best in-state wide receivers, combining solid length, speed and impressive competitiveness to make for a future impact player at the Power Four level.

With todayā€™s commitment, the LSU class of 2025 officially rests at No. 3 nationally, as well as No. 2 in the SEC with 25 total commitments. Furthermore, Anding is now the fifth defensive back to announce his pledge to the Tigers, meaning that Brian Kelly and his coaching staff can now switch focus over to other positions of need such as offensive line, where they have just four commitments as we stand today.

Still, with all of that said, the purple and gold are sitting pretty with months remaining until national signing day. At this point, any additional commitments would simply be icing on the cake ahead of what could be a loaded class of 2026 group by the time next year eventually comes around.
