Weā€™re on the verge of reaching the finish line. Today, LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels secured a spot as one of the four finalists for the 2023 Heisman Trophy. Joining him in New York later this week for the final ceremony will be fellow finalists Bo Nix (Oregon), Michael Penix Jr (Washington), and Marvin Harrison Jr (Ohio State).

LSU Quarterback Jayden Daniels named a finalist for the Heisman Trophy

From the kickoff of the 2023 college football season, it became evident that LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels was among the nationā€™s top players. Despite the Tiger loss to Florida State in the season opener, the performance of the 5th-year senior prevented a potentially much more disastrous outcome.

Remarkably, his week one showing, where he ā€œonlyā€ amassed 410 yards and one touchdown, might have been considered one of his less impressive outings.

However, Daniels dominated throughout the remainder of 2023, averaging an impressive total of 412.2 yards and 4.2 touchdowns per game across 12 appearances.

Now, heā€™s earned some well-deserved respect, being named one of four finalists for this yearā€™s edition of the Heisman Trophy. He, alongside fellow finalists, quarterbacks Bo Nix (Oregon), Michael Penix Jr (Washington) and wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr (Ohio State) will travel to New York later this week.

According to the official Heisman Trophy website, the award is annually given to ā€œthe outstanding college football player in the United States whose performance epitomizes great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work.ā€

As per FanDuel Sportsbook, LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels is currently the clear favorite to win (-1450) after achieving a historic 4,946 yards and 50 touchdowns in 12 games.

The winner will be revealed on December 9, 2023, in New York, with the broadcast scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CST on ESPN.
