After first announcing his commitment to Texas in December of 2023, elite class of 2025 defensive lineman Brandon Brown is now trending to eventually flip his pledge to the Tigers of LSU football.

LSU football predicted to land flip commitment from new SEC foe Texas

Most recently landing a commitment from four-star edge rusher La Jesse Harrold, the LSU football defensive coaching staff is finally starting to see some movement in the world of recruiting. Now, it’s just a matter of keeping that momentum going, and things are very much trending to do exactly that.

Earlier today, the Tigers received some excellent news, as Shea Dixon of On3 made the prediction that the purple and gold could soon receive a flip commitment from class of 2025 defensive lineman Brandon Brown, who is currently pledged to new SEC member Texas.

Brown, a long-time recruiting target of new LSU defensive line coach Bo Davis is officially listed at 6-foot-1, 290 pounds and carries his weight incredibly well. Sitting as the No. 218 player nationally, according to On3, as well as No. 20 at his position, the Melbourne, FL, product is one of the most highly touted defensive players nationally.

Important to note, while no official flip commitment has occurred yet, there have at the very least been rumblings for months now. Formerly making his commitment to Bo Davis while he was coaching for the Longhorns, the elite defensive line coach’s transition over to the purple and gold had people wondering if this could be a possibility all the way back in January.

Now, nearly seven full months and two recruiting trips to Baton Rouge, LA, later, it just feels like a matter of time. Furthermore, it’s essential to remember that there are truly no guarantees in this sport, so keep an eye on Miami and Tennessee, who have each made a strong push as well in recent months.

The LSU football class of 2025 currently sits at No. 3 nationally, as well as No. 2 among SEC opponents with 12 total commitments. While the group only has three defensive pledges for the time being, a commitment from a player like that of Brandon Brown would provide an elite presence down low and would only further the momentum they’ve felt in recent memory.
