We’re officially less than 24 hours from coach Kim Mulkey and LSU women’s basketball taking the court for the first time during the 2023-24 season. The Tigers are set to take on East Texas Baptist in an exhibition game tomorrow evening in Baton Rouge.

The day has finally arrived! Earlier this month, coach Kim Mulkey and LSU women’s basketball was announced as the No. 1 team in the country, according to the preseason AP poll.
Now, we’re getting our chance to watch them take on another team, as the Tigers will face East Texas Baptist tomorrow evening.
Coach Kim Mulkey’s squad is coming off an electrifying season. Not only were they one of the best teams in the conference, but the country, as they went on to win the national championship after entering the postseason as a 3-seed.
Now, the team will look to build off their success last year into another stellar season in 2023-24.
Following the 2022-23 season, the Tigers lost several pieces of their championship team, including guard Alexis Morris, forward LaDazhia Williams to graduation and forward Alisa Williams to the transfer portal.
However, in response, coach Kim Mulkey went ahead and added four freshmen (guards Angelica Velez, Mikaylah Williams, Janae Kent, center Aalyah Del Rosario) along with two out of the transfer portal (guard Hailey Van Lith, forward Aneesah Morrow).
Tomorrow’s exhibition will take place at 7:00 p.m. CST at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, LA. The game will also be available to watch live on SEC+.
