Thanks to the return of EA Sports College Football 25, fans will finally be able to play as their favorite schools in a video game for the first time in over a decade. Notably, with this announcement comes a flood of EA Sports NIL deals, as LSU safety Major Burns recently became just the latest to ink a deal with the big-time video game company.

LSU safety Major Burns reveals EA Sports NIL deal signing

Over the last few weeks, college football players all around the country have slowly been revealing their intent to either opt in or out of the upcoming EA Sports College Football 25 video game. Among the biggest names to have opted in include Colorado cornerback Travis Hunter, Ohio State safety Caleb Downs and LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier.

Notably, as things stand, only one player has officially opted out, as it was reported this week that Texas quarterback Arch Manning is unlikely to be in the game at the time of its release this summer.

With fans around the country hoping that this doesnā€™t end up becoming a trend for more star players, it appears as though the Tiger football program doesnā€™t have too much to worry about. Earlier this week, LSU safety Major Burns became the second purple and gold representative to ink an EA Sports NIL deal, announcing his intent to be in the game through his Instagram account.

The NIL signing is notable, as the video game company has been fairly selective with who they pick to become an ā€œambassador.ā€ Not only is the soon-to-be seniorā€™s selection reflective of his brand recognition, but LSU as a whole.

The Baton Rouge, LA, product is heading into his fifth year of college football, beginning his career with the Georgia Bulldogs before transferring to the Tigers ahead of his true sophomore season.

Over the course of his career with the purple and gold, Major Burns has proven to be a consistent feature of the LSU secondary, recording 156 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, one sack, nine passes defended and two interceptions.

After this most recent NIL deal, the expected 2024 starting safety has a total of 27k followers between his Instagram and Twitter ā€“ helping to land him at No. 767 in total NIL valuation among college football players, according to On3.
